ALAN Dyton has given the thumbs up to the rebuilding job done at Purton months after he helped bring the Red House down.
Last season's Division One West champions were dismantled following the summer departure of manager Alan Clark.
Dyton swooped to lure half a dozen Purton players to Shrivenham.
Chris Pethick and Sean Clark were left to pick up the pieces and, after a difficult start to the campaign, the Purton revival is beginning to gather pace.
The two sides meet at the Red House tomorrow and improving Purton will be looking to wreck Dyton's dream of succeeding them as champions.
"The Purton management team have recovered very well from what was an extremely difficult situation at the start of the season and I have to say credit to them," said Dyton.
"Purton are now very capable of taking the points.
"Our attitude has been in question in the past when playing sides lower in the table but that will not happen this weekend I am sure.
"Purton quite understandably would love to damage our league chances so the challenge is laid down and we will react to that."
Purton assistant Sean Clark is also certain the underdogs can spring a surprise.
"We go into it in not bad form," he said.
"We've been progressively adding to the squad and improving all season.
"It's a good time to play them. We're confident that, if we start right, we are more than capable of getting a result and that could be all three points."
Shrivenham are without Mark Stevens (work commitments), Jon Peters (suspended), Steve Winchcombe (ankle injury).
Russ Byrne is also doubtful but Michael Silvanus and Tate Hulbert return to the squad.
Purton miss Lee Northcott (work) and Bryan Halestrap (sprained ankle).
Forwards James Richards and Simon Pugh have left for Cyprus and the United States respectively so the scoring burden will be on in-form Bryn Keetch, although the management team hope to add another forward ahead of the game.
Elsewhere in One West, Malmesbury Vics go to Easington and Cirencester United host high-flyers Tythherington.
