A FOOTPATH by Colebrook Infants' School is to be widened as part of the Safer Routes to School scheme.
The infants' school submitted an application to Safer Routes to School's Challenge Bid for funding to improve the footpath and a dropped kerb-crossing point.
This footpath is part of the Coleview Community Centre and is on land that also belongs to the school.
The project to widen the footpath will be carried out by the Civil and Structural Engineering Group of Swindon Council's Environment and Property department.
There will also be a dropped kerb crossing installed on Towcester Road.
The work is expected to start on February 28 subject to weather conditions and will take three weeks to complete.
Builders will work on the project from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 9am to 4pm on Saturdays and have pledged to do what they can to minimise any inconvenience caused.
