ANDY KING is anxious to squeeze as many points as possible out of the next month before he loses Lee Holmes and Michael Proctor.

The Town boss has more selection options now than at any time during the campaign and Christian Roberts could also come back into the reckoning next week.

Saturday's 1-1 draw at play-off rivals Doncaster Rovers stretched Town's unbeaten run to six matches and King feels his players believe that the dream is obtainable.

He said: "I think they realise they've got an opportunity to reach the play-offs.

"It's in their own hands. With 11 games to go, if we win our home games and then show tenacity away from home then we'll be in there with anyone."

King takes comfort in the competition for places he has at present, although he knows two faces will probably disappear before the campaign is out, one definitely.

He said: "I've got options and in another week I might have Christian Roberts available.

"For the next month, while I've got the loan players, I have choices.

"What we have to do is make the best of this month because when it ends then I'll have to look again or I'm going to be without them."

Eleven games remain for Town to decide their destiny for the campaign.

King said: "If I'm sitting here needing to beat Chesterfield or secure a draw on the last day of the season I'd take that now.

"To think we're going to go on a run to take us up to challenge the top two is unrealistic."

A play-off spot is certainly within reach, however.

The Town boss said: "If they (the players) want it enough, and they showed against Doncaster that they're beginning to want it, then we're in with a chance."

Town's draw at Doncaster means they will end February with three wins and two draws from five League One matches.

It puts King firmly in with a shout of the dreaded manager of the month chalice.

Runaway leaders Luton have won four, drawn one and lost one of their February fixtures.
