RESIDENTS want tree-lined avenues in the Pipers Way area of Old Town, to be protected in the future.
Householders were asked whether they wanted the streets to be subject to conservation orders.
This would restrict development and preserve the character of the area.
The idea has been floated by the Pipers Way Residents' Association, which circulated the questionnaires.
Nearly 90 residents welcomed the idea and just three objected.
A public meeting is due to be held at the end of April to discuss the matter.
