A NEW centre will open tomorrow to allow children from troubled families to meet with their parents.
In-sight is specifically designed for children whose parents pose some risk to them, and for whom the courts have ordered supervised contact.
A supervisor stays within sight of the child at all times.
In-sight forms part of the Family Mediation Centre, in Milton Road, and has new toys, books, computer games and a DVD player.
There is also another waiting room so separated couples do not have to meet.
A secure entrance is also available for victims of domestic violence.
Another room will allow those involved to review contact arrangements.
Centre manager Julia Waygood said: "We aim to protect children and vulnerable adults from conflict and harm.
"And we also help to sustain positive relationships between children and their parents.
"It is important to emphasise we don't take sides.
"Our focus is always the child and what is best for them."
A launch event is being held at 4.30pm.
