WHETHER it's listening in to other people's conversations or snooping on the contents of shopping baskets, Brits love being nosy.
Now, a survey has confirmed that we are a nation of nosy neighbours.
Nearly 70 per cent of people admitted listening to neighbours' arguments, with more than a quarter even resorting to the old glass on the wall trick.
The survey of 5,000 people by Red Nose Day sponsors Sainsbury's also found women to be the nosier sex.
More than 60 per cent said they made a habit of casting a prying eye over the contents of other people's baskets at the supermarket checkout.
