I FIRST contacted the Evening Advertiser suggesting brothels be legalised several years ago. I'm pleased so many are now catching up with the idea.
But why does it have to be in a residential area?
Why not the Brunel Centre/ Regent Street area?
These are well away from houses and if their opening hours were permitted only when the shops were closed what harm would it cause?
Being pedestrianised the kerb crawling element would be removed and, if street prostitution were made illegal with high penalties, then the girls would be kept off the streets too.
Prostitution has been around for thousands of years it isn't going to go away.
The best we can do is control it, and the best way to do that is legalise it.
And just in case anyone is wondering, no I'm not a customer and I can't see being one.
