Sam Dharmasiri, managing director of Watermark UK, Swindon, and his company raised £1,200 in a tsunami disaster fund-raising campaign.
In February, a series of free training courses took place.
Instead of paying participation fees, the attendees had to contribute £50 a day.
Sam, originally from Sri Lanka, said: "People were very keen to get involved in the campaign and the courses were pretty much filled.
"My father will go to Sri Lanka next week and give the money directly to local charities in the affected area."
