SWINDON Spitfires clinched a hard-earned 4-0 victory over an ever improving Wootton Bassett side in Saturday's Wiltshire County League match.
The result maintained Spitfires' unbeaten start to 2005 and their push for the final play-off spot a week after joining their ladies reserve team in the league cup finals.
Spitfires took an early lead through Emma Skinner, followed by a quick second via Lauren Wakeling after some excellent build-up play by Emma Blackwell.
In the second half in-form keeper Grace Purnell made her second penalty save in successive matches as Bassett took the game to the home side.
In the latter stages Lucy Woodward and Skinner added further goals.
Spitfires squad: Grace Purnell, Louise Hoffa (capt), Kelly Peck, Emma Blackwell, Lucy Woodward, Lauren Wakeling, Emma Skinner, Kayleigh Hawkins, Kat Mabbott, Kimberley Harding, Chelsea Cleary.
