SWINDON Town Ladies were beaten 3-1 by Keynsham Town in a South West Combination League fixture played at Aldbourne.
Town kicked off on a crisp sunny afternoon and both sides settled quickly with some good end to end football.
Gemma Langford had her drive well saved by Town keeper Jodie Steenaart and at the other end Carly Smith cut in from the Town's right but Keynsham keeper Linette Newton kept her shot out with her legs.
In the ninth minute Town took the lead. Diane George played a long ball over the Keynsham defence to find Claire Morton, who hooked the ball over the advancing keeper.
The visitors were awarded a free kick 30 yards out but Kate Shaw saw her shot rebound off the Town's cross bar.
Play was switching from end to end and a near build up between Tara Lofts and Moreton saw the final shot fly past the far post.
Sheila Rocha chased a long through ball from Gemma Langley but Steenaart did well to smother her shot.
Both sides continued to play some neat football and a move down the Town's right between Smith and Morgan opened up the visitors' defence but the final cross evaded the in rushing forwards.
Rocha again caused problems in the Town's defence but Steenaart saved well.
In the 44th minute the sides were level when Keynsham were awarded a penalty and the league's top scorer Rocha made no mistake from the spot kick.
With the second half three minutes old the Town fell behind when Sarah Stanner's cross was turned into the net by Rocha.
The Town hit back and Morton outpaced the Keynsham defence to latch onto Kim Reeves through ball but keeper Newton was quickly out to clear.
Sabu cut in from the Keynsham left but Sam Quinn got in an important challenge to rob her of a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Play was fairly even with neither side able to create openings.
Three minutes from time the visitors sealed the Town's fate when Brazilian Rocha completed her hat-trick from Lucy Adams' cross.
