CHIPPENHAM 3rd lost out to their Walcot counterparts 43-8 in Saturday's friendly encounter.

The Wiltshire side started the game in confident fashion in Bath and spent the first 20 minutes in the Walcot half.

But despite the pressure, no points were put on the board until, after Walcot's first try, Gordon Hardie slotted a penalty for the visitors.

Last-ditch tackles prevented James Cook and Ian Bannister from scoring and at half-time Walcot led 17-3.

They pulled away in the second half, Chippenham's consolation try started by Paul Clifford and finished by skipper Bannister.
