ST FRANCIS C of E Primary School will be officially opened at a ceremony on March 10.
The school in Aiken Road, Taw Hill, was opened in September last year and its new building has been in use since the beginning of January.
But the Duchess of Gloucester will be performing the honours when the site is officially opening at 10.30am.
Coun Peter Stoddart, above, the Mayor of Swindon and the Bishop of Bristol, Michael Hill, will also attend the celebrations.
A tree will be planted, a placard unveiled and a time capsule buried to give people in the future an insight to school life in 2005.
