INTREPID explorer David Hempleman-Adams said there would be no place for hair and beauty products when his eldest daughter embarks on a trek to the Arctic.
As reported in later editions of the Adver, Alicia, 15, will become the youngest person to attempt the 200-mile walk to Baffin Island next month.
"It won't be a place for beauty just danger," said David, who was born in Swindon.
After one of Hempleman-Adams' friends dropped out of the trip, it took the 48-year-old nearly a month of heart-searching before letting his eldest daughter go.
"Looking at my experience and her age and size, her trek will be the equivalent of getting to the North Pole solo.
"She is already faster than me on skis but this is taking it to a far greater level.
"I've always tried to give my children a broad lifestyle and she will see amazing things."
Hempleman-Adams, a married father-of-three, who has broken countless records and pitted himself against some of the most inhospitable conditions known to man, will give Alicia expert advice and ensure she has the best equipment.
The expedition will start on March 19.
