IN REPLY to D Downs' letter (EA February 24) I would like to point out that I was contacted by Evening Advertiser to give my response to what appeared to be work of vandals at the top end of Thames Avenue.
My response was that I had seen the damage and that, had vandals been responsible, I felt it was a shame.
Of course I inspected the damage and, although I run the Fox and Hounds in Haydon Wick, I also have a house in Avonmead.
The comment that vandals are rampant at the Fox and Hounds is absolute nonsense.
I wonder if D Downs has taken the trouble to walk the half mile or so to the Fox and Hounds to see how hard we have all worked at the other end of Haydon Wick to ensure a sense of community is alive and well.
