WHAT will it take for politicians to start listening to the over 55s in Swindon?
Our age group are not only twice as likely to vote as the under 55s but millions of us are still undecided about which party to vote for. Yet our demands and concerns are being largely ignored by politicians in the run up to the General Election.
Of course age does not determine which way people will vote. But the over 55s share many similar expectations of later life and unite around key areas of concern. Pensions, the NHS and public services were all high on the agenda in our recent polling. Older people want to see manifesto commitments that will have a positive and lasting impact.
You can find out more about Age Concern's view in the run up to the General Election by writing or calling in to 14 Milton Road SN1 5JE to pick up one of our election leaflets Isn't It Time Politicians Stopped Just Kissing Babies? or visit our special website at www.20millionvotes.org.uk
