THE South West Regional Assembly is in the process of deciding if 24,000 homes should be built in Swindon.
But it is not an elected body and if you disagree with it you cannot alter anything by voting for a different party.
The South West Regional Assembly is a quango with huge power.
There was only one political system that used quangos in this way and that was the old communist system of the USSR.
This is not the democratic way of doing things.
We have three political parties but there has not been a single voice of opposition raised in parliament against the creation of these all powerful, communist style, regional quangos.
