A WILTSHIRE firm has had success in Turkey thanks to a government scheme.
Gro-Well Feeds, based in Melksham, with help from UK Trade & Investment Passport to Export has sent its first consignment of Tiger Oats to Turkey.
Tiger Oats is a home-grown blend high in oil and low in starch to fuel horses working at their peak whether racing, show horses or endurance.
It's also tasty, to suit the most fussy steed. The firm has also made contact with distributors in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Iran.
Managing Director Stephen Tucker said: "We realised that despite a number of trips to the Middle East in the last two years to support our distributor and meet potential customers, it is difficult to break through into this important market.
"It takes time to get your company and your products known and to find the right people to work with.
"Passport to Export advice and funding meant we could make one final push leading to confirmed orders."
