A 55-year-old Wootton Bassett man is to face trial by jury after being accused of dangerously shining a spotlight at the police helicopter.
Robert Symons appeared before a judge at Swindon crown court to face a charge of endangering the safety of an aircraft.
It is alleged that he shone the light at the county's force helicopter as it was above Wootton Bassett one Sunday in August last year.
Symons, of Garraways, Wootton Bassett, denied the charge and the case was adjourned for a trial. The Devizes based aircraft had been scrambled to the town that morning to join the hunt for a missing woman.
