Paul Harris with his photograph Picture: CLARE HOMER Ref: 76780-24A PHOTOGRAPH called Day And Night, by Paul Harris was unveiled at the canteen of Rosewood psychiatric unit, in Sandlewood Court, as part of a bid to brighten up the building.
The First Impressions project was launched last year in a bid to involve patients and former patients in producing art to improve the environment at Sandlewood Court, in Highworth Road,
The results so far have included Mr Harris' photograph, as well as engraved terracotta tiles by patients and staff at Sandlewood Court and the Swindon Mind mental health drop-in centre.
Mr Harris, a former patient at Sandlewood, was delighted to have his work on display.
He said: "It's amazing to have the photo up in the canteen.
"I got a lot of support from Mind who helped out with the printing. Mind and Sandlewood have been an inspiration. "
Nisha Wickramasinghe, a user development worker at Mind said: "It's a real help to give the patients something beautiful to focus on and take their minds away from their difficulties."
