ONE of England's most successful footballers is coming to the Cotswold Water Park to talk about his colourful life.
As Arsenal captain Tony Adams, right, became the first footballer to lead a championship-winning side in three different decades.
But he has also struggled with addiction to alcohol.
His rollercoaster life has included a spell in prison for a drink-driving offence and a visit to Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE.
Adams recently made an unsuccessful return to the football scene when he accepted the role of manager at Wycombe Wanderers. He lasted only 12 months.
He is heavily involved with the Sporting Chance charity, which helps sportspeople with addiction problems.
The charity operates a clinic in Liphook, Hampshire, which has had high-profile clients such as footballers Paul McGrath and Paul Merson.
The peak of Adams' England career came when he led the team to the semi-finals of Euro 96.
His appearance at the Gateway Centre, in South Cerney, takes place on Friday, April 29.
Tickets cost £8.50, or £7.50 for concessions.
Advance booking is essential.
Tickets are available from the Gateway Centre or by telephone on 01285 861459.
