15748/1GAZETTE & HERALD: THE Cross Keys darts club from Corsham are counting the pennies after a 24-hour charity darts marathon.
On Good Friday the group of 11 took part in the challenge to boost funds for the Tsunami Appeal.
Organiser Dave Philpott, who was co-ordinating the event for the second time, was hoping to raise more than £1,000 but sponsorship and donations are still being calculated.
"It went beautifully," he said. "I'm very, very impressed with the way it ran so smoothly.
"Because they had not done a 24-hour darts marathon before I was a little bit worried but everybody pulled together and it was brilliant."
The group successfully completed the task and celebrated with karaoke, a raffle and an auction.
Prizes included Easter eggs, puzzles, Castle Combe race tickets and a Bath rugby ball that went for £50 in the auction.
Mr Philpott, who raised £200 in sponsorship, would like to say a big thank you to Carol the landlady and all the staff that stayed up all night with them.
