NEIGHBOURHOOD watch co-ordinator Ian Mace has praised the eagle-eyed vigilance of a Corston resident who helped police stop two burglars.
The resident became suspicious when she saw two men wearing tool belts go round to the back of a house opposite her home. She dialled 999 and within minutes police officers and the police helicopter were on the scene. The men, believed to be from the Birmingham area were arrested.
Mr Mace said: "It all came together because the resident quickly acted on her suspicions, and police were able to arrest these men. Not for the first time vigilance and prompt action by Corston Neighbourhood Watch has assisted police in making an arrest.
"Neighbourhood Watch, working closely with police are making our community one of the safest in the county. The police would prefer false alarms rather than not being informed at all. I urge people to be vigilant so we can beat criminals."
Sgt Gavin Williams also praised the resident for her prompt response.
