PEOPLE who go on a countryside walk can learn about the history of Bishops Cannings as well as raising money for the village church.
The Friends of Bishops Cannings Church are repeating the Walk for Saint George on April 23 due to demand. Last year the walk raised just over £500 for the church.
There is a choice of routes, which are one mile or four miles long. The walk is within Bob Frearson's farm that recently won funding from Defra for the Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
Elizabeth Frearson, secretary of the Friends of Bishops Cannings Church, said: "All along the walk a trail of dragons divulge fascinating tales about the local history, the countryside and indeed who Saint George really was and what the dragon legend means.
"The walk through this amazing stretch of local countryside contains over 25 fascinating stories.
"Walkers can stand on the spot where a Roman stashed his treasure 2,000 years ago or on the site of a Bronze Age farmhouse from 3,000 years ago."
The walk begins at 2pm and 4x4 rides are available between 2pm and 4pm from Bishops Cannings Parish Hall and cream teas will be served in the hall. It will cost £2.50 for adults, £1 for children and dogs go free.
