15788/01DEVIZES flautist and singer India Webb is planning a career as a concert musician after being accepted by the most famous music college in Europe, the Paris Conservatoire.
India, 17, is delighted that, after she finishes her A-levels at Dean Close School in Cheltenham next year she will move to France to further her musical career.
She said: "The best thing about it is that I will be performing at concerts all over Europe. Students quite often travel to Italy for the day to perform at concerts."
Coming from a musical family, it was only natural that India should seek a career in music.
Her grandmother, Gloria Chapman, is the founder of the local choral group the Devizes Singers.
Her mother, Lydia Webb is a former member of Devizes Chamber Choir and, having moved to the South Coast recently, now sings with the Southampton Philharmonic Choir.
After finishing at Wansdyke Primary School in Devizes, India won a scholarship to Salisbury Cathedral School where she was a valued member of the choir until she moved to Dean Close.
