ON the morning of April 1 (please note the date), everyone living in Wroughton High Street received an orange plastic box for recycling.
I duly separated all my recyclable waste and, once I had filled my box, I consulted the booklet which came with it to see when it was to be collected.
But I found the High Street, Wroughton, had no recycling scheme.
I thought they wouldn't deliver these rather expensive looking boxes without us being in the scheme and that the booklet was just a printing mistake.
When I gave them a ring the person on the other end of the phone explained to me that there had been a mistake and that we should never had received the boxes. I thought she was then going to say April Fool!
More fool me for not consulting the booklet before filling the box, but I think it was reasonable to assume we were in the scheme or the boxes would not have been delivered.
It is another example of how this council throws our council tax away, unless they have found some way of recycling it?
