CHIPPENHAM NEWS: AN investigation has been launched into a fast food company after a customer claimed a sandwich caused a bout of sickness.
Luke Livesey, 25, of Marshfield, claims he suffered food poisoning after eating a chicken, mayonnaise and lettuce sandwich bought from a Munchies van which delivers to Carpenter, Oak and Woodland, Slaughterford, where he works.
Munchies Ltd, of Park Lane Industrial Estate, Corsham, is now being investigated by the Environmental Health team at North Wiltshire District Council.
Mr Livesey has also asked Munchies to compensate him for lost wages because he took a day of sick leave due to his sudden illness.
Dawn Gooderson, who owns Munchies with her husband, said she does not want to comment on the allegations.
"People get sick for lots of reasons and it has never been established as to what caused it," she said.
