SAILING instructor Tim Cross returned to his roots to train five new recruits in Westbury. Mr Cross, a former Dilton Marsh Junior and Matravers School pupil, learned to sail in Westbury 20 years ago.
He was examiner as the West Wilts Youth Sailing Association staged its first instructors' course.
The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) course on the lake in Station Road, Westbury, saw Adam Loverock, Chris Malholland, Kat Jones, Ken Adams and Helen Martin put through their paces.
Nic Cross, WWYSA principal and father of Tim, said: "The club is proud to have five new instructors to teach sailing to the young members."
The four-day course covered all aspects of sailing from the various types of dingy to land drills.
