16838TWO ambulance drivers who pulled people from a burning house in Warminster have been honoured for their bravery.
Anthony Guy and Clive Curtis from Warminster's paramedic crew were the first to arrive at the burning home and immediately sprang into action.
They kept the two occupants of the house calm before finding a ladder, climbing to the window and pulling them to safety.
Their colleagues nominated them for a special achievement award and they were honoured last Wednesday.
At an awards ceremony in Chippenham, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire John Bush presented the awards.
Paul Gates, director of operations for the ambulance trust said: "The award ceremony was to honour those people for long service and special achievement.
"Clive and Anthony went beyond the call of duty and that is why they were honoured."
Twenty four ambulance staff, including paramedics, control staff, and a cleaner, received awards ranging from the Queen's Long Service Award Medal and Special Achievement Awards.
