RESURFACING work will start next week on the M5 motorway between junctions 11a and 11 near Gloucester. Junction 11a leads to the A417/A419 link to the M4 passing through Swindon.

The work will start on Monday and end by July 1. The works and contraflow will be lifted for both May bank holidays.

While the resurfacing is underway, additional work will be carried out on drainage and safety fencing.

During the work the northbound carriageway will be closed and the southbound carriageway used to carry traffic in both directions by use of the hard shoulder and a contraflow.

A 50 mph speed limit for the safety of drivers and the workforce will be in place through the works area enforced by safety cameras.
