16842TRUCKER Trevor Todd got the send off he would have wanted when his family drafted in a vintage lorry for his funeral.
Mr Todd, of Blair Road, Trowbridge, died on March 18 at the age of 66 and his family wanted to say goodbye in style.
His wife, Pam, said: "He enjoyed his job very much and he would have been really chuffed about this."
A 1950 Leyland Beaver lorry took the coffin from funeral directors Barkers and Courtiers to the Haycombe Crematorium in Bath on Thursday. Mr Todd was raised in Chippenham but moved to Trowbridge as a teenager and began his lifelong career as a lorry driver.
His daughter, Charlie, said: "He was a lorry driver all his life and he always used to joke that when he died we shouldn't worry about the funeral expenses, just chuck him into the back of a lorry."
Mr Todd was introduced to his wife by her brother in 1959 and the pair married in 1961, settling down in Trowbridge.
Their first child, Debbie, was born in 1963, with Dean following a year later and Charlie completing the family in 1968.
Mr Todd also leaves four grandchildren, Laura, Aaron, Lauren and Georgia.
