A TOOTHILL man was left shaken after being racially abused by two men with dogs. The incident happened at around 3.20pm on Wednesday in the Faringdon Road area of Swindon.
Police said the incident was unprovoked.
The 45-year-old man was driving home when he stopped at a set of traffic lights.
The men were walking across the road and started shouting racial abuse at him.
One approached the driver's window and shouted more abuse.
This lasted for around two minutes before the lights changed and the man was able to drive off.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
A Swindon police spokeswoman said: "The victim was shaken by his ordeal.
"All reports of hate crimes are treated sensitively and with the utmost seriousness.
"No-one should have to suffer hate crime.
"We would encourage the pubic to come forward with information so that we can take positive action against the perpetrators."
Police said that one man was around 6ft tall, slim with long blonde hair. He was wearing a blue jacket, jeans and trainer.
The second was shorter, with a heavy build. Both men were in their mid to late 20s.
Anyone with information should contact Swindon police on 01793 528111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
