Alan Henley's first half try was the deciding score in this tense but open derby, followed by three immaculate penalty attempts from captain Andrew Donegan and a mighty fight back from Westbury, earning them two tries, but not the win.
First team call ups were handed to Calne's Mike Robinson, Max Whiston, Mark Edwards, try scorer Henley and young second row Tim Hector.
As with the corresponding fixture earlier in the season Calne lost their first scrum against the head and generally looked in recoil for the first ten minutes, but Westbury failed to capitalise during this period and Calne made them pay.
Fly half Paul Jenkins jinked his way into the danger zone after outstanding rucking from the pack and Jenkins zipped a pass along the line.
The ball found full back Lewis Baker who drew in the defence and unleashed Henley, who hit the gas and headed for the corner carrying two defenders over the line.
A Donegan penalty was added moments later and despite being out sized upfront, Calne's mobile and ultimately more determined pack dominated phases of the game.
Donegan added a second penalty, making the surprise scoreline 11-0 to the visitors. However, with ten minutes of the first half to go Westbury struck back with a neatly taken score.
Late first half pressure created another penalty opportunity for Donegan, and Calne led 5-14 at the break.
Westbury took the bull by the horns from the restart and resolute defence had its desired effect for Calne until the home side released their outside centre on an incisive scoring run.
Calne's front row of Mat Arnold, Mick Dyer and Edwards just got stronger and Calne's players showed a general disregard for their bodies with outstanding defence.
Calne ground Westbury's almightily attempt to take the victory away down and in the later stages of the game mounted some fine counter attacking play. The game was well into its 88th minute when the referee blew full time, to the pleasure of second team captain Paul Hulbert, playing his last away game for the club.
