A NON-smoking pub has set a date to open in Swindon following a £1.7m redevelopment project.
Pub operator JD Wetherspoon is opening The Dockle Farmhouse, Lloyds No.1 Bar, in Bridge End Road, on Sunday, April 24.
It will be the company's first non-smoking pub in the region. Smokers will be able to smoke in two designated covered areas in the pub's garden.
Sixty full and part-time staff will be employed at the outlet, which will be managed by Andrew Fletcher.
The Dockle Farmhouse takes its name from a farm, which once occupied the Grade II listed building. It was most recently a pub.
It will feature two bars as well as two separate family areas. There will also be a large garden, which will include a children's play area.
The Dockle Farmhouse will have plasma screens. It will play background music at all times.
It will be open from 10am until 11pm (Monday to Thursday), 10am until 12.30am (Friday and Saturday) and 10am until 10.30pm (Sunday).
Manager Andrew Fletcher said: " I am looking forward to welcoming people into The Dockle Farmhouse and I am confident that the no-smoking policy will prove successful."
