A recruitment consultancy is harnessing the potential of parents in order to benefit businesses.

Swindon and Bath-based SJC Recruitment is looking to recruit more parents as it says they come armed with many skills and qualities that companies seek.

Sara Child, the managing director of SJC, said: "Parents need more flexible hours to manage work commitments alongside child care.

"Employers who can offer more flexibility will benefit in terms of the skills brought to their business and a happy workforce with a higher retention rate and lower absenteeism."

For every parent recruited to a position through SJC the firm will make a donation to local charity Hop Skip and Jump which provides day care for children with life limiting or life-threatening illnesses or special needs.
