MOTORISTS were held up in Wootton Bassett when traffic lights in the High Street stopped working.
The temporary lights failed yesterday morning, causing a tailback to Coped Hall and down the High Street.
An engineer was called out to deal with the problem, which caused disruption for about two and a half hours.
It came just two days after traffic chaos gripped the town when a lorry, pictured above, broke down in the High Street.
The heavy congestion on Friday sparked renewed calls for a bypass.
