DRUGLINK has been in existence since 1985 and is an independent community based agency that provides a service to anyone whose life is affected by drug misuse (including parents, carers, professionals and other concerned individuals).

Druglink is aiming to use funding from the Charity Ball for the purchase of computer equipment for its Project X Community day programme. This is a programme which provides intensive group work treatment, support and education for people who have become drug free and are aiming to develop new skills.

The education programme is run by a teacher who provides both basic skills training that helps develop client skills in literacy and numeracy as well as helping them to move into local educational courses run by local colleges. People who have undergone this programme have subsequently moved into employment and maintained their new life. We have run this using very old computer equipment and welcome money to purchase new IT equipment and software to continue the development of this programme.
