LEAVES (Local Enterprise & Vocational Employment Schemes) is a non-profit making co-operative whose twin aims are the provision of services in and for the community, at the same time as providing satisfying work and employment for people recovering from mental health problems.
LEAVES services include a newspaper recycling service for sheltered housing schemes across the borough; a low cost gardening service for elderly and disabled people helping them to maintain their independence at home; community composting; conservation and the management of local woodland.
LEAVES members are supported to develop their work and employment skills, self worth and confidence and to gain control over their own working lives.
Growing LEAVES will help us to expand all of our services to benefit both our customers and our members. A grant will help us to purchase a dedicated vehicle and a large tool and woodworking shed.
