Michelle LeightonIt gives me great pleasure to welcome you all this evening to the 17th annual charity ball. St George's Day has provided us with a great theme for this evening and I sincerely hope you all have fun.
This event is well and truly established in the Swindon fundraising calendar and I am delighted this year to have had the opportunity to chair the organising committee.
This year we are aiming to raise more than £40,000 for nine worthwhile local charities The Swindon Centre for Multiple Sclerosis, Swindon Children's Scrapstore, Lower Shaw Farm Children's Project, L.E.A.V.E.S., Broadgreen Breakfast Club, Reach Inclusive Arts, The Open Door Centre, Druglink and The NSPCC North Swindon Family Centre. Please take a moment to read all about them further on in this programme. Through the generosity of so many people over the past 16 years, more than £400,000 has been raised for local good causes.
Please enjoy yourselves this evening and thank you for your support.
