WITH regard to recent references in the paper that the disabled have to pay for some parking spaces.

The council, it seems, wants to save some £40,000 as well as make massive cuts to the voluntary sector. This is a very vulnerable sector of the community which is penalised through no fault of its own.

Disablement can happen to anyone at any time and it seems it is well out of order to impose these charges especially at the present time after previously not charging at all.
