Phil Osman, garden designer Picture Ref: 76003MACMILLAN CANCER RELIEF: GARDENERS could benefit, from a Swindon Cancer Appeal plant sale on May 21 being organised by garden designer, Phil Osman.
Mr Osman, 44, a panel beater and paint-sprayer by trade has been selected to design a garden for a prestigious show.
Work on the garden begins next week, and it is scheduled to go on display at the Malvern Spring Gardening Show in May.
Tradition normally sees plants used in the show go on sale after the event.
But Phil and his team will bring the plants back to sell to eager Swindon gardeners.
Phil said: "My father died of lung cancer in 2001 and was nursed by them. when something like that happens you realise your own mortality.
"I wanted to do something creative and I am delighted to be helping Macmillan.
"The Macmillan nurses provide a huge amount of support not only for the victims of cancer but their families too.
"I have had fantastic support from Swindon College for the project and I am hopeful people will come out and buy some of the plants."
The sale will be held at Swindon College on May 21 and will start at 11am.
