GAZETTE & HERALD: THIRTY-SIX low cost homes could be built at Pockeredge Farm, Corsham, if councillors agree to donate the remaining £800,000 needed for the site.
Members have recommended to commit the outstanding amount and the final decision could be made at a North Wiltshire District Council executive meeting tonight.
A request for an affordable housing grant was made from within the £2 million grant approved within the 2005 to 2006 capital budget.
Westlea Housing and Guiness Housing Trust would own the properties on the site. The homes will include one-bed flats, two and three-bed houses and two-bed bungalows.
In a report to the district council, Jo Potter, principal housing enabling officer said: "Corsham is an area of housing need.
"There are 155 households on the Housing Needs Register with Corsham as their first choice."
