KENNET has the lowest levels of crime in Wiltshire, a survey has revealed. An audit has shown that between April 2004 and February this year in Kennet the total number of criminal offences has dropped by 9.6 per cent.
This includes a reduction in criminal damage by 12.4 per cent and vehicle related crime by 13.8 per cent.
Reports of anti social behaviour are the lowest in Wiltshire, the audit has shown.
Hilary Marsh, community safety officer at Kennet District Council, said: "By working together officers and representatives from specific services, for example Social Services, environmental health, youth offending team, leisure services and housing associations, can pool their expertise, knowledge and ideas to tackle problems such as anti social behaviour, distraction burglary and domestic violence using a range of preventative measures, interventions or relevant enforcement."
