GAZETTE & HERALD: AN inquiry into North Wiltshire District Council's controversial decision to refuse permission for storing aggregate in a hangar at Yatesbury Airfield began on Tuesday.
CO-AG Ltd retrospectively applied for use of Hangar 45 to stock aggregate, with the addition of a mixing plant, ramps and external storage bays.
But it sits next to the Grade II Listed Hangar 46 in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and planners turned the application down because they felt it was detrimental to the area.
Storage bays have already been built and an enforcement notice has been issued asking for them to be pulled down.
Owner Des Rodgers threatened planners that 65 people could lose their jobs if the decision wasn't revoked.
