Wine Street Gallery in Devizes is to host the annual exhibition of the Society of Wood Engravers. This is the first time that the exhibition, which opens on Saturday, has come to Wiltshire.
It attracts entries from all over the world and the successful works are chosen by a jury of experienced artists.
The 130 or so works on display range in subject matter from plant and animal studies to landscapes, figures and abstract compositions.
Works by early engravers such as William Blake, Thomas Bewick and Edward Calvert will be on show, along with examples of work by founder members of the society Eric Gill, Lucien Pissarro, Gwen Raverat and David Jones.
