FURTHER to my letter regarding the Link Centre, which helps to promote the health of the citizens of Swindon, and smoking being allowed in the bar I thought that readers would be interested in the following facts.
The latest research into the results of the non smoking ban in Ireland shows that traces of carbon monoxide in the lungs of non smoking staff has been reduced by 45 per cent. Also a study carried out by St James's Hospital in Dublin has revealed that traces of carbon monoxide, the poisonous gas linked to cardiovascular and breathing problems, had diminished by 36 per cent among smokers. The Irish Tourist Board is pleased with the results stating that "Non smokers are happy because their clothes no longer stink and even smokers are saying how pleasant it is to visit these bars."
So come on you councillors, take quick action at the Link Centre.
