A big thank-you for printing my appeal to trace descendants of my great aunt Charlotte, nee Sparey, who used to live in Downing Street, Chippenham, and her granddaughter Paula.
As a result I heard from Paula, now Mrs Champion, and I met her and her mother for the first time in over 50 years. I also heard from another Sparey descendant living in Trowbridge.
If there are any more descendants of my grandparents, Thomas and Charlotte Sparey, who lived variously in Knook, Heytesbury and Upton Lovell, I would love to hear from them. Thomas Sparey was a thatcher/farm labourer, and he and his wife had nine children, among them Richard, Absolom, Eliza and Henry, about whose descendants I know very little. Thanks again for a great service to the public.
