GAZETTE & HERALD: TONY Blair, Michael Howard or Charles Kennedy could buy their way into 10 Downing Street during this general election because the Chippenham version is up for sale.
The famous address of the serving Prime Minister also happens to be a terraced house in the west of Chippenham and it certainly sounds easier to get into.
Built at the turn of the 20th century, 10 Downing Street currently belongs to a housing charity, and has three bedrooms, two reception rooms and gardens.
It has been on the market for about five weeks with estate agents Kingsley Pike and can be snapped up for £139,950.
Partner David Pike said the house had attracted plenty of interestwith potential buyers.
The Italian Checchia family owned the house for about 18 years, moving in during the 1970s.
Maria Checchia and her husband Antonio brought up their three children there.
"People did think it was funny we had that address," she said. "It was a nice house but we had to move in the end to a bigger place."
