PEOPLE are being urged to make sure they get any benefits or council tax discounts they are entitled to.
As the new bills are being delivered to householders, West Wiltshire District Council is highlighting the fact that some people don't realise they could be entitled to help.
Revenue and benefits manager Shirley Sanchez said: "Since the bills started to go out in late March, we have seen an increase in the number of telephone calls and visitors to the office, and we have handled significantly more documentation that usual.
"From this we know people are realising that they might qualify for benefits, but there are still households that could be receiving help."
Discounts can be made for people living alone, those on a low income and those living in a property that has been altered for use by a disabled occupant.
