PAUL Beavers lit up Meadow Lane on Saturday with a 50 yard strike that had manager Paul Brickley rubbing his eyes in disbelief.
The Westbury United midfielder, who had already given his side a first half lead, fired the ball into the top corner of the net from just past the halfway line straight from the restart for the second half.
The wonder strike effectively killed off Clevedon's challenge and Pete Ayton soon added a third, but all the talk afterwards was centred on that inspired moment.
Manager Paul Brickley, said: "It was probably the best strike I have ever seen. He just got the ball from kick-off, saw the keeper off his line and blasted it over him. It was so sweetly struck.
"If it was on the television it would have been shown again and again for the next six months, or longer."
Beavers has been a major plus this season since making the step up from the reserves early in the campaign, and Brickley warns there is still more to come from the youngster.
He said: "Paul has done himself justice since coming into the team. I picked him on his ability and that is finally beginning to show.
"It is the same with Pete Ayton. In recent weeks he has been outstanding."
