AFTER a bad week for the club, with the reserves forced to resign from Division Two, Broughton Gifford's first team gave their supporters cause for celebration on Saturday by reaching their second cup final of the season.
In the semi-final of the KO Cup, sponsored by Fox Leisure and Sportswear UK Ltd, Broughton proved too strong for Bratton and ran out 3-0 winners. The Division Two club fought competitively with the wind at their backs in the first half and held Broughton until just before half-time, when Chris Styles chipped in the opening goal.
A second goal from Dave Clayton shortly after the interval underlined Broughton's superiority, and they made it three just before the end when a long range effort from Ashley Groves was ruled to have crossed the line by the assistant referee.
Broughton play Rudloe in the final at Chippenham on April 27.
